Vice President, Partner Marketing & Entertainment at Tumblr

REMOTE/AUSTIN, TEXAS - JULY 2021 TO JUNE 2023

Reported to the head of direct sales to build custom and creative sales packages and campaigns for partners that drive revenue, engagement and brand perception. Developed the sales vertical strategy, including leading entertainment which delivered 102%+ to goal for 1Q ‘23 and 61% of total revenue in 2022.

  • Netflix and Stranger Things Season 4 Launch - Created the platform’s first integrated partnership with Netflix, immersing users into the Stranger Things universe on launch day by turning the entire platform dashboard “upside down” (literally, along with spores) so that users had to reverse-scroll while series assets remained right-side up. Engagement rate was 508% above benchmarks.

    • Under the Tumblr entertainment banner, developed and launched the platform’s first original series franchises - Tumblr Top 5 and Total Ship Show that drove 5X DAU growth over a 5-week period:

    • Developed and delivered Tumblr’s first video music franchise, Artist of the Month, featuring exclusive content from top and up and coming music artists. Artists include Alicia Keys, Benee, Charlie XCX, and more – 30M monthly impressions avg.

    • Was responsible for all B2B collateral, content and communications, including custom activations, rebranded website, monthly email communications, presentations and events. I also “productized” platform initiatives into revenue-generators

  • Led the sales and fintech/media industry impact discipline for the only frictionless cash-back app and marketing platform

  • Created The WE Suite – the network’s largest, most comprehensive cross-platform sales and marketing program offering client brands exposure via network original series promotion. Now a $30,000,000+ upfront sales franchise

  • Winner of the 2016 silver Promax/BDA award for "Best Consumer Tie-In/Brand Integrated Campaign" for the "We-Quation" co-branded franchise that I created

  • Re-imagined all on-air, digital and social added value franchises, making them more cost-effective and integration-friendly, while increasing revenue

  • Oversaw Upfront and Calendar presentations and elements, including trade publicity, advertising, premiums, internal marketing, events, helping to achieve single and double-digit revenue growth year-over-year in challenged marketplaces

  • Launched Celebrate Sweeter – a new, bi-monthly brand affinity program featuring exclusive evergreen digital lifestyle content for our database of media clients; 22% average open rate with 16% CTR

  • Drove agency awareness via a biannual in-agency event marketing program featuring branded fresh-pressed Juice Bars (for Upfront) and gelato Pop Bars (for Calendar) to support sales efforts during those key times of year

  • Re-imagined and launched an entirely new suite of cross-platform sponsorships

  • Developed and executed The Forecast Factor - a topical on-air and social media trade franchise forecasting business and consumer trends based on predictive weather data

  • Delivered all elements for network Upfront, including strategic positioning and messaging, events, collateral, presentations, and premium development for key TV shows and movies including Battlestar Galactica, TAKEN, and Dune franchises

  • Trade marketing responsibilities included client integrations, sponsorship opportunities, national promotions, and added value

  • Developed and managed “The TAKEN Experience” – an award-winning 8-market interactive promotional tour supporting the EMMY award-winning mini-series Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN


  • Responsible for yearly convention presence at ComicCon, including celebrity panels, autograph signings, premium giveaways, etc.

  • Created all on and off-air sweepstakes promotions, including Stargate’s Get In the Gate franchise via a sales marketing partnership with Yahoo! garnering over 700,000 entries - the channel’s most successful sweepstakes promotion
